On November 27, 2001 Keith Green was inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame in the Contemporary Inspirational category.
Melody, along with her daughters, Keith's mom, and friends attended a large ceremony in Nashville to receive Keith’s Hall of Fame Medallion.
Eight people were inducted that night including Larry Norman and Elvis Presley.
Melody stated, "This is a tremendous honor and speaks to the lasting value of Keith’s ongoing legacy of music and ministry continuing to speak strongly to new generations. Keith would be excited to know his short life had made a huge difference."
ASCAP noted, "It’s estimated that millions of Keith’s recordings have been distributed so far.This induction to the Hall of Fame will no doubt bring more visibility to Keith’s ministry." "Praythat many more will give their lives to the Lord through Keith's ministry and that they will decideto live an obedient life that counts for Jesus! ," said Melody in her closing comments.

More than 200 music industry leaders joined dozens of Christian Music's top artists for the 2006 gala evening at the Richland Country Club in Nashville.
Although the ASCAP Crescendo Award was created to honor Keith Green specifically, there's no doubt it will be given to others in the future, to be similarly blessed. ASCAP fully recognizes how much Keith contributed by being one of Contemporary Christian Music's amost treasured early pioneers. Today, Keith is still the standard many young musiians hope to model their lives and ministries after.
Melody Green was there to receive the award with her newly expecting daughter, Rachel and Rachel's husband, Bobby Taylor. Melody was asked to take a few minutes to share and she gave a strong challenge to the singer songwriters in the room. "You can pull down songs from heaven thst will change peoples lives! Just be honest and authentic in all you do, and always put Jesus first."
A highlight of the evening was when Vicky Beeching performed Keith's song, "Oh Lord You're Beautiful."
"She was brave," said Melody, "using open tuning on her Les Paul. It was magnificent!"
Hosted by ASCAP Senior Vice President Connie Bradley aNd ASCAP Assistant Vice President Dan Keen they presented awards to the ASCAP Writers and Publishers of the most performed Christian songs of 2005.
In accordance with the theme for the evening, ASCAP artists presented songs from television and the movies. Featured were MTV's The Afters and Bethany Dillon.
Keith Green was the youngest member of ASCAP
In order to become a member of ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers") you need to have one of your authored works published. At the tender age of 11 Keith became a member, the very youngest at that time.
ASCAP was established in 1914, is the first and leading U.S. Performing Rights Organization representing the world's largest repertory totaling over 8 million copyrighted musical works of every style and genre from more than 230,000 composer, lyricist and music publisher members.
